Tathagata Satpathy (born 1 April 1956) is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Dhenkanal constituency of Odisha, and has been re-elected for the fourth time. He is a member of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) political party. He is the editor of the daily Oriya newspaper, The Dharitri. In 2009, Satpathy spoke out against conversions to Christianity, alleging that "so much money comes into Odisha for Christian missionary efforts".〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Christians of India under attack )〕 He also stated that Christians have "offered dalits better chances by offering them jobs, free education, and other benefits that any poor community needs.
